Today I went along to my first Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) networking group in Chichester. It was exactly the kind of connection I didn’t know I needed.

As someone running a small business, it’s all too easy to stay in the office. But getting out, having real conversations, and hearing from others who are also building something meaningful? That’s where the good stuff happens.

The best part? You don’t have to be a member to try it out. I wasn’t! The event was free to attend, open to any local business wanting to see what it’s all about. And after just one session, I signed up... because honestly, it felt like a no-brainer.

We heard from:

  • Carla Forder of Fandango Digital Ltd – sharing how to show up in the Google Map Pack

  • Adrian Eady from Allica Bank – explaining how they support growing businesses

  • Anna Corrigan – giving us a tour of all the ways FSB membership can help (some of these services and hotlines are gold-dust)

Beyond the talks, it was simply refreshing to spend time with people who get it. People wearing lots of hats, making decisions every day, and showing up for their business and community.

If you’re based in or near Chichester and want to build your network, find support, or just have a decent chat over coffee... go along. You might find what you didn’t know you were missing.
