A simple mobile app stack that helps keep bookkeeping flowing smoothly...


One thing I’ve found over the years is that bookkeeping is rarely held up by the bookkeeping itself.

  • Usually it’s friction.

  • Forgetting receipts.

  • Not invoicing quickly enough.

  • Mileage not being recorded.

  • Paperwork ending up in random places.

For my clients, I keep things simple with a small core app stack.

Each app has a very clear purpose.



Xero

This is mainly for creating quotes and invoices on the go and keeping an eye on things without needing to sit at a laptop.

Once products and services are set up properly, it becomes much quicker to create invoices while you’re out and about.



Xero Me

Really handy for mileage tracking.

You can put in your start and end points and it calculates the distance for you — which helps avoid forgetting those smaller journeys that add up over the year.

(And yes… remember both the outward and return journey)



Apron

This is where a lot of the day-to-day receipt capture happens.

Snap receipts as they happen instead of building up a pile for later.

Engager

This one is less exciting from a client point of view, but very useful for securely signing documents, sharing files, completing forms and handling admin paperwork properly.

This is the one that keeps me happy!


I recommend putting all business apps together in one folder on your phone, alongside your business banking app.


One simple place for:

  • invoices

  • receipts

  • mileage

  • approvals

  • business admin


Less hunting around.

Less backlog.

Less mental load.
